We have attempted to write an essay on Radcliffe-Brown’s renowned book “Structure and Function in Primitive Society” in light of contemporary perspectives. This book is fundamental to the discipline of social anthropology. Scholars keen on pursuing anthropology or social anthropology cannot acquire proper knowledge without it. A.R. Radcliffe-Brown has highlighted ‘significant changes in social anthropology,’ asserting that the book will remain a valuable resource for students of the field for years to come. It comprises twelve ‘invaluable’ chapters, wherein Prof. Brown thoroughly examines the structure and function within primitive societies. He has made a concerted effort to concentrate on the tangible, observable facts that are of interest to social anthropologists. Thus, the significance of this book is perennial and crucial for those in the field of social anthropology.
