The abrupt emergence and swift escalation of COVID-19 presented global challenges. Initially, with treatments proving ineffective, preventive measures became the primary reliance. Knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) were pivotal in this context. This study evaluated the KAP regarding COVID-19 among Uttar Pradesh’s residents, aged 12 to 67, in India’s most populous state. Conducted online from May to June 2020, the study utilized a questionnaire disseminated via social messaging apps to collect data on demographic characteristics and KAP related to COVID-19. A total of 104 individuals participated. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20. Participant responses were classified as poor, moderate, or excellent according to the study’s criteria. Findings indicated that over 80% of participants possessed accurate knowledge, 76.92% demonstrated good practices, and 6.73% exhibited a positive attitude towards COVID-19. Despite high levels of knowledge and practice, the overall attitude towards COVID-19 was comparatively negative, highlighting the need for a more positive outlook among Uttar Pradesh residents.
