This study evaluates the nutritional status of Bodo women in North Guwahati, Kamrup (Rural) district, Assam, and compares it with the nutritional status of other tribal women across India to determine which group has a higher prevalence of malnutrition. The assessment is based on Body Mass Index (BMI). The findings reveal that Bodo women experience both undernutrition and overnutrition. Overall, the prevalence of undernutrition among tribal women in North-East India is lower compared to those in other Indian states, whereas overweight and obesity are more common among the tribal women of North-East India than their counterparts in other states.
