– In this article, an update on the comprehensive and ground-breaking article Bison Effigy Stones in Southeastern Wisconsin published in 2013, three additional bison or buffalo effigy stones are described. All three exhibit attributes consistent with those first described in 2013. Two are located at the (former) Kolterman Mounds and Petroform site, the third at the Starman Petroform site. One at each site, the Kolterman site and the Starman Petroform site, are Archaic in age dating approximately 4000 years old. The other, however, stands out because of its cupuled surface and what is likely an extreme age, likely 7000 to 9000 years old. This effigy shares an affinity with a number of other cupuled monoliths and boulders in North America connected by the Missouri Coteau. Additional observations of the similarity between two bison effigies and the possibility of another being a bison or buffalo rubbing stone are also examined.
